Pirate Captain Jeff with Shoichi YokoiA historic moment on Guam
Yokoi on Guam
The incredible story of Shoichi Yokoi, a Japanese Imperial Army sergeant who survived in Guam's jungle for 28 years, long after World War II ended. Local hunters discovered Yokoi in 1972, and his tale of survival, resilience, and adaptation became one of the most remarkable stories in modern history.
These historic photographs document his discovery, rescue, and the ingenious tools he crafted to survive.

Jeff’s collection
Jeff explored every inch of the property, uncovering treasures from Japanese glass balls to WWII bayonets, ancient pottery, and sling stones that the waves would occasionally reveal from the sand.
The Seaside Museum houses this collection of artifacts, from ancient CHamoru tools to natural ocean specimens, antique photos, and wartime souvenirs donated by friends and patrons over the decades.
